Choose a course:

First, you need to choose a course that you want to study in Australia. It should be registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).

 

Check visa eligibility:

You need to check your visa eligibility criteria. You must be enrolled in a full-time CRICOS registered course.

Apply to a University:

After choosing a course, you need to apply to a university that offers that course. You will receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) after your acceptance.

 

Gather documents:

You need to gather all the necessary documents required for your visa application. This may include your passport, CoE, English language proficiency test scores, financial documents, and health insurance.

 

Apply for the visa:

You can apply for the visa online through the Department of Home Affairs website. You need to create an ImmiAccount and fill in the application form. You also need to upload all the required documents and pay the visa application fee.

 

Attend a health examination:

You may need to attend a health examination depending on your country of origin and the length of your stay in Australia.

 

Attend the Biometrics:

You may be required to provide a biometrics test for your visa applicaiton to be finalised.

 

Wait for a decision:

After submitting your visa application, you need to wait for a decision. The processing time may vary depending on the time of the year and the complexity of your application. You may expect a call from DHA to verify the information supplied by you and the submitted documents. Hence having an updated contact details is very important.

 

Receive your visa:

If your visa application is approved, you will receive your visa grant notice through your ImmiAccount.
